BIO

Natalia Aguirre joined the Family Justice Center Alliance team September 2011, and is currently the Assistant Project Director of the California Family Justice Initiative.

Before joining the Alliance team, Natalia worked at the National Alliance for Hispanic Health helping carry out the Mobilizing Communities to Reduce Diabetes initiative a national program helping raise awareness about diabetes in the Hispanic community. She also worked with the Cultural Proficiency project, attempting to raise awareness of the importance of cultural proficient materials when providing services to the minority communities.

She interned at the Department of State in Washington, DC where she research and edited the human rights reports, focusing on  women’s rights, as well as the LGBT community in the Middle East.

Natalia received her BA from the George Washington University in International Affairs, Conflict and Security. During her time at GWU she learned Arabic and studied in Cairo, Egypt.
